Instructions

We are required to make an integrated poster with elements from DPI (Photoshop), IVN (Illustrator) and Typography (Fonts) based on a chosen motif. The integrated poster will then be animated in After Effects,

1. Idea Development

2. References/Sketching

I enjoy photoshop and really like double exposure works as well as sketch illustrations, thus I wanted to try and incorporate both into my work. It was hard to find references that incorporated both including 3D elements, but I referenced 3 separate works to create my piece.
I created my initial sketch, but Mr Hafiz pointed out that it was still unclear where the type would be, so I created a second sketch with other adjustments that I felt aligned more with how my poster was turning out.

3. Design

I first loaded my taken picture into Photoshop, and created the base image for my poster.




I used colours that reminded me of the sea, and are nostalgic to me. I used the warp tool and selection tool to warp my facial features like the sketch. I also added grain and a slight glow effect to the image.



I used blending modes to add in pictures from my childhood into the poster to make it look hazy and dream like.


I used illustrator to create 3D shapes such as the liquid metal and droplets. I then added my quote and type using a blending mode


I added sketches with the brush tool in Photoshop, then I exported all the elements as assets and placed them in Photoshop as seperate layers for animating.


4. Animation

I opened my prepared photoshop file into After Effects and animated each element individually based on my motif.
